Lowell General Hospital’s mission is providing healthcare that meets the highest of standards. This also holds true for their conference rooms. MEC designed a sleek and intuitive conference room for meetings and collaborative sessions across the network. The room is controlled via Extron’s MLC IP series controller. This keeps meetings consistent and manageable from an IT standpoint. Also included is Crestron’s Airmedia for wireless display within the room and across the network for remote viewing. MEC was a one stop shop for this project, managing every aspect in house from electrical, data cabling, and audio visual programming.
Cross Point Thoroughfare / Fitness – Recreation Center

MEC Electrical supported Chapman Construction (General Contractor) with all of the Electrical components needed to complete this new entrance between Tower 2 & Tower 3. With a dramatic 80’ floor to ceiling entry using natural light and spanning 0ver 350’ of new pathway on the ground floor the addition has completely transformed this entrance into Cross Point Towers. MEC Electrical was also involved in the fit-out of all Electrical components in a brand new Fitness Center / Recreation Area on the ground floor at Cross Point. An eye catching and energizing new addition for the Tenants at Cross Point.
D’Youville Life & Wellness Senior Services Center

MEC Electrical worked alongside Soucy Industries (General Contractor) and provided all the Electrical fit-out for this 13,000’ ground up state of the art Senior Services Center consisting of Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Services, Exam rooms as well as Activity and Dining areas a Library and much more. Another wonderful addition to the D’Youville Life & Wellness Community.
Beth Israel Deaconess Cancer Center & Surgical Pavilion

This 30,000 square foot facility across three floors is attached to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital —Needham. The cancer center and surgical pavilion consolidate Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center’s west suburban cancer services into one facility. The full service cancer center includes advanced imaging systems, six new infusion bays, 2- state of the art operating rooms, a Linear accelerator, a radiation oncology suite and access to clinical trials and novel treatments, and an adjacent 2 story parking garage. In order to make additional room for this project the Glover Café was relocated which MEC Electrical also completed.
Winchester Hospital General Medical and Surgical Facility Nursing Units

Each floor comprised of approximately 24 patient beds in 17 rooms including private and semi-private occupancy with a total of 50 Rooms and 72 beds.
Along with the patient room renovations MEC Electrical also upgraded the nursing stations, med rooms, lounges, hallways and numerous offices and storage rooms with new LED lighting and controls with electrical branch circuitry for the changing needs of today’s health care industry.
Installation was completed in the facility working closely with the Administration and Nursing Staff adhering to their scheduling requirements.
Project schedules can be aggressive in getting the area of the building back up and fully operational in a timely fashion. This requires management expertise, which MEC provides in all of our projects. UMass-Lowell Saab Emerging Technologies and Innovation Center

MEC has been working on a number of installations within the UMass Lowell campus including at the Saab Emerging Technologies and Innovation Center. This project required the installation of a Jiplec Jetfirst 200 used in Nanofabrication and Rapid Thermal Processing this machine can process 12′ wafers from ambient to 1,000 degrees Celsius. Working in an extremely sterile Lab environment with protective gear on from head to toe can present a particularly challenging work environment, however, MEC technicians are well versed in these settings.
The Mark and Elisia Saab Emerging Technologies and Innovation Center is a dynamic hub for cutting-edge advances in nanotechnology, nanomedicine, molecular biology, plastics engineering and optics, furthering fields such as life sciences, energy, national security, environmental protection and more.
Outfitted with specialized, high-powered laboratories and equipment, a plastics processing high bay and high-tech cleanrooms, the four-story ETIC will prepare students for jobs in emerging sectors, serve as the site of corporate- and government-sponsored research and foster industry partnerships in the global marketplace.

MEC Technologies is a leader in providing technical solutions for high-end board rooms such as this one for Lowell General Hospital. The Lowell General Hospital Executive boardroom boasts with video/teleconference and presentation capabilities. The room is controlled by a 10 inch Extron touch panel and wireless iPad solution. Users have the ability to easily power on the system and connect to one of the table’s VGA/HDMI locations to present on one, or both of the rooms displays. The front wall features a ninety inch 1080p Sharp LED display with Cisco videoconference camera. A secondary wall mounted LED display on the opposite side gives perfect viewing angles to all occupants. The impressive 26 foot long by 9 foot wide conference room table was off limits to cutting which created a challenge. MEC was able to install custom under-table boxes, housing 120V and USB power, audio and video input connections as well as hidden retractable cables that are easily accessed for use and retracted with a press of a button when finished.
Teleconferencing was completed using wireless tabletop Revolabs Fusion microphones and ceiling mounted directional speakers. The Revolabs Fusion system gives the user up to eight wireless mics that can be placed anywhere on the conference room table.
The Revolabs Fusion mics were the perfect solution for the 25 foot tall ceiling. MEC also provided the electrical and tele/data work for this project which included the Conference Center Entrance and Foyer located on the other side of the boardroom.

Lowell General Hospital Helipad

MEC provided the electrical needs for the new helipad located at Lowell General Hospital. The Helipad is adjacent to the ambulance entrance. It serves the area’s only certified trauma center. LED runway lighting was installed for patient and pilot safety.
