BI / Lahey in Burlington Massachusetts approached MEC Technologies for their New Transplant Area Conference room. Unlike most typical conference rooms; this room would utilize the latest trend of using Moveable tables (8 in all) to Mimic a traditional Large Conference table. With the added benefit of modern group style configuration possible.
This presented a unique challenge as the mandate was: “No wires on the table”. MEC installed multiple Tri-Element, 360-degree coverage, microphones for Audio Conferencing. This space also incorporates wireless connection for presentation. The additional request was up to 35 people can be present in the space at any one time.
MEC installed a 98” High Definition Display for main viewing coupled with additional side HD Displays for alternative / augmented viewing for all participants. These additional displays can be extended out and articulated for best viewing. The room features the latest in touchpanel control which includes device/display selection and full Audio-Conferencing Control. Lastly, in keeping with state-of-the-art theme, Video Conference (Soft codec) is utilized via USB connection/Camera control.
Currently, this space is the highest technology space available at the facility, and as such, much sought after for booking!

MEC Technologies is a leader in providing technical solutions for high-end board rooms such as this one for Lowell General Hospital. The Lowell General Hospital Executive boardroom boasts with video/teleconference and presentation capabilities. The room is controlled by a 10 inch Extron touch panel and wireless iPad solution. Users have the ability to easily power on the system and connect to one of the table’s VGA/HDMI locations to present on one, or both of the rooms displays. The front wall features a ninety inch 1080p Sharp LED display with Cisco videoconference camera. A secondary wall mounted LED display on the opposite side gives perfect viewing angles to all occupants. The impressive 26 foot long by 9 foot wide conference room table was off limits to cutting which created a challenge. MEC was able to install custom under-table boxes, housing 120V and USB power, audio and video input connections as well as hidden retractable cables that are easily accessed for use and retracted with a press of a button when finished.
Teleconferencing was completed using wireless tabletop Revolabs Fusion microphones and ceiling mounted directional speakers. The Revolabs Fusion system gives the user up to eight wireless mics that can be placed anywhere on the conference room table.
The Revolabs Fusion mics were the perfect solution for the 25 foot tall ceiling. MEC also provided the electrical and tele/data work for this project which included the Conference Center Entrance and Foyer located on the other side of the boardroom.
